Supplies STM1
Combiners and associated Fibre optic and switching modules for Foxtel Australia.
A local design
house, IRT Electronics Pty Ltd, located at Artarmon in Sydney has been
designing and manufacturing equipment for the broadcast industry and Telco’s
for many years and was successful this year in supplying STM1 combiners and
associated transmission equipment to Foxtel Australia for the delivery of 30
additional channels.
One of the IRT
products that were used in this project included the MMM-4681 and the MMX‑4681,
these items allow the combining of up to four ASI streams on to an STM1 at
155Mb/s.
By combining
multiple ASI transport streams the application of this product reduces the
waste of bandwidth on an STM1 circuit.
The MMM/X-4681
also provides SNMP features for control and monitoring of a national network as
well as many other advanced features.
The selection of
this product by Foxtel provides much flexibility and a very cost effective
solution for the concentration of multiple ASI transport streams across the
network.
The success of
this product has even found applications in South East Asia, Europe and the Middle East where the local carriers made recent purchases
of multiple units to service their respective video distribution requirements.

this new product and other ASI products can be found on our web site at www.irtelectronics.com.
