HISTORY

IRT Electronics Pty Ltd is a wholly Australian owned company formed in 1970 to manufacture equipment for the Australian television and broadcasting industry.
For over forty years, not only has IRT continued to supply the broadcast industry, but has also satisfied the requirements of many other users in the communications and electronics fields in Australia and around the world.
Growing from a small company with a staff of two, IRT now has a staff of over twenty and operates from a factory/office complex in Artarmon, N.S.W.. This facility is equipped with the best possible test and measurement equipment including facilities for EMC testing.
All senior staff have wide experience in broadcast or electronic industries.
In 1980, the company executed a contract for the installation and planning of the initial Special Broadcasting Service studios in Sydney. IRT was also responsible for the consulting, design and installation of the original 2 Day FM, in Sydney.
Over the years, many products have been developed for specific use by Telecom/Telstra. All products are designed to meet Telstra's stringent performance specifications.
In particular IRT has provided world class fibre optic links for analogue and digital, video and audio with more than 1000 short haul fibre optic links in service with Telstra and television networks around the world.
IRT has a policy of ongoing research and development with current emphasis on digital products for DVB / MPEG, G.703 and digital audio and video.
